Hatchling tub setup

After your eggs pip and you cut them and move the eggs to the hatchling tub for them to get out of the egg on there own how do you make this tub do you have air holes in it and how do you like to set it up I see some just use wet paper towel and place the cut eggs in the box and holes in the tub then eggs stay there till the babies come out on there own how long do you leave them in the tub in the incubator after emerging from the egg?

I let them emerge from their egg in the incubator, then I wash them off and set them up in a tub with a heavy layer of damp paper towels and a water dish. I generally put all the the babies from the same clutch in the same tub until after they've shed then I split them up into individual boxes.

I keep them in the incubator until they come out of their eggs. As they come out, they go into their own shoebox tub with air holes, damp paper towels, a water bowl and a hide.

Sometime we separate them other times we put the whole clutch into 28qt tubs
You do not want to take the eggs out of the incubator, wait until they emerge and rinse them off and put them into their own tub or into a group tub.
Make sure the paper towels are nice and damp so they can have a nice easy first shed.

I think I am going to go ahead and separate the babies into their own tubs rather than putting them together until their first shed.
Are there any negatives to putting the hatchlings in their own tub versus together in one tub??

I don't think there are any negatives just more tubs to clean and more paper towels to keep damp. With one or two clutches it should not be too bad if you start hatching 10-20 clutches then it will get time consuming. I keep mine together and never had a problem.

Not really. Not much cleaning has to be done the first week or two so it doesn't complicate that, and I usually only make sure the paper towels are misted for the first 24 hours or so. As long as they have a suitable water bowl they're good to go.

I've done it both ways. The only thing I didn't like about putting them in their own separate tubs right away was having 'x' more tubs to keep paper towels damp. It's super dry here so that was kind of a pain. But I liked that I could ID each one right away and not have to wait till they shed.
