    Does this look promising?
So I am now 5 days post pre-lay shed and my girl was laying like this tonight. Does that look promising to anyone that has bred before? She took a small rat a couple of days ago. Is it typical for girls to eat between pre-lay shed and actually laying?

My girls looked like that every now and then but neither of them ate after ovy. They also laid like that more often before they ovied rather than after ovy. Not saying that all females dont eat after their ovies or prelay sheds but thats been my experience, which is very little. But I would say it looks promising.

Thanks for the input Andy. We'll see how things go in the next few weeks, I guess.

Why is that, exactly? I figure that if they'll eat then they are just listening to their own bodies and it must be okay.
