Incubators: Hot Box or Kemp's Reptile Incubators

Hello everyone.....I am trying to decide which incubator to use....a Hot Box Incubator or Kemp's Reptile Incubator?? There seem to be lots of great features with the Hot Box....however I also like the Kemps because once you put the eggs in you don't have to open it again....you just refill the reservoir as needed to keep the humidity right. One of my concerns with the hot box is that in order to add water to your eggs tubs you have to open it which would change the temp.....what do you think about both of these???

There are also other options to consider, such as Animal Plastics and Boa Master.

If your substrate is mixed properly, adding water really should not be an issue. And the opening and closing of the incubator occasionally is also not an issue.

Kemp incubators are VERY small and expensive for the size, while they might be ok for gecko eggs you will not be able to put that many BP eggs in that type of incubator.

Your best options are

Nature's Spirit Incubator
Hot Box Incubator

and the one you make yourself (Easy especially with the DIY you can find online and low cost)

I have never added water during incubation, never really have the need to open the egg box before the last week of incubation (airing the eggs out) and if I do (generally to remove an egg going bad) it not an issue.............eggs are much more resilient then people think.
