Hamburg show coming up

Ok there a show coming up in Hamburg, pa. I have a male normal at 1100g and a 500g I would like to get a female so what should I pair up with. My budget around $300 to $400.

I don't recommend breeding a normal male to anything. unless he might be a dinker. (very unusual looking normal) when you will need to spend more money on an incubator, another enclosure, thermostat, heat tape and ect... and most likely you won't be bettering the females offsprings. if you're considering breeding, you're going down the wrong path from the start. he's not a good choice for breeding. normal males make good pets.

Yea this is the point where people are going to tell you to stop and go do some homework about ball python breeding.
as previously stated you need to factor in future cost before you try to dive into breeding.
Do you have an incubator? if not you will have to buy one or build done.
Do you have appropriate housing for potential hatchlings,a bought or home built rack with seperate tubs for everyone?
Will you be able to feed all of them? you only have 2 snakes right now that number could have 8+ with one good sized clutch.
And you if you planned to sell any you should not expect them to sell quickly, they may sit in your rack for several months depending on what you produce which means you will have to supply food for several snakes for an extended period of time.
If you cant answer those basic questions with a 'yes' then you would be better off waiting till you have things in order.

Also as you go do your homework on breeding, research morphs and try to find what you like. There's only 1 morph I can think of right now that you can get a breeder sized female for roughly 400 and that's pastel, there are probably other morphs out there. Its best to have a bit of patience, maybe save up so your selection can open up some or maybe get a well started baby and grow her up yourself. You also could get a pair of morphs if you waited till the 2013 season babies start hatching.

..and honestly if he only has 2 snakes, saying he shouldn't breed his normal male to anything only applies to those of us who have other options,its not like hes cycling a normal male to several females, that would be silly.Not to mention we don't know what this normal male looks like even. Breeding a normal male to a morph female is no different than if it were a morph male to a normal female.Some people just breed normal to normal for the sake of the experience of breeding and hatching babies.

I agree pretty much with what you said besides what I made bold above. there's a big difference. the average time it takes to get a female up to breeding size greatly differs from the male. big reason why most morph females are much more than the males. plus you can breed a male to many females at a time. I still have a few normal females in my collection and I still use them. I have some morph males that I don't or didn't use this year. think about it, there's a big difference.
