    Panic or excitement???
First off I'll start with husbandry. Humidity is at 80%, hot side 88°, cold side 78°, hot spot 93°. Feeding on larger small rats weekly with no issue. Now the question is, should I be worried? My female ball python ate Saturday afternoon, I weighed her (740g) and I put her back. Today I got her out since she was acting like she wanted out and I weighed her again just for the fun of it (757g). She gained 17g overnight without feeding inbetween... Is that cause for concern? How could she gain so much without even eating? Could she possibly be gravid? (The previous owner had her with a male but was under the impression that they would get a brother-sister relationship from being housed together and that they would never breed.) Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I wouldn't be too concerned. She maybe just took a long drink of water.
She is a young snake...I do not know if females can even become gravid at such a small size.

Im sure other members will chime in with more advice.

most likely it was an error while weighing her, they don't always like to stay right on the scale to be perfectly weighed. That's my guess.

She was balled up and perfectly still both times. And I know what you mean so I weigh them 3 times each just to be sure it's correct.

It's probably nothing. 17g isn't very much for a snake that size.

I can weigh my snakes five times, and all five will come out different. Yes, 17g is a BIG difference, but she may have settled down and relaxed. Tense muscle can throw scales off. I don't think she could be gravid, depending on the time line.
