Interesting thing I learned today - duct tape can be refered to as duck tape. Here's why-

As with many things duct or duck tape originated in the military (much like WD-40) anyways because soldiers found it so useful in wet and dry conditions and because water beads on its back (like rain off a duck) they lovingly refered to it as duck tape - later it proved useful in many situations - and became also known as duct tape :)

When I was little I used to always call it duck tape. I think it's a name brand for duct tape too.

I never knew it had a military background tho ;)

    What can't ductape fix??

In the Army, we called it "Hundred-mile-an-hour-tape" because you could go a hundred miles an hour before it came loose!

It was normal duct tape, but it was green instead of grey.

    Ah yes.

If it moves, and it isn't supposed to, duct(k) tape it.

If it's supposed to move and doesn't, WD-40 it.
