    Spinoff: Poss. Pastel Pied
Hey all, I didn't want to hijack the other thread but here are a couple pics of the pied I have that is believe to be a possible pastel pied. No background on the snake other than he was bought from a breeder and I got him from a girl was selling her boyfriends snakes to pay for bail/court costs, etc for a DUI I believe (I didn't get into much detail it was none of my business). I just wanted a male pied and I liked this snake.

Anyway, here are a couple photos in different lighting with different cameras. He does have green eyes. You can see that in the first photo, although I thought I had a closeup but I can't find it on my computer it may still be on my camera. I will try to look and post a better closeup of his eyeball. I have sent these pics to a couple well known breeders and the consensus is leaning towards pastel, because of the eye color. Heather Wong actually wrote a great article on her blog about eye color in pieds vs pastel pieds.

I call this guy still a "possible pastel pied" because obviously without breeding I won't know for sure. However, 2 of these breeders I spoke with said they think either fire or vanilla. Me personally, I have no idea other than he is much lighter than the other pied I have and the pieds I have seen and had in the past. He's ready to breed, just trying to find a het pied or pied girl that will be ready to go this season for him to get this show on the road! :)

    Enjoy photos, opinions always welcomed!

How big is he gram wise? if he's still a baby/juvie I'd be more inclined to say he was just a regular pied based on his color and pattern. Its just looks too heavy and dark in some spots for the pastel gene to be there.
No to mention the lack of the pixelation that pastel pieds seem to have and the bright color he does have on his side is probably there cause he is still young, and hasn't faded to the typical pied colors yet.
I don't know about the eye thing but his body doesn't say pastel pied to me. If its possible for plain normals to have green eyes at random I don't see what exempts pieds from that.

He's 900g. That's why the people I've asked said pastel. Bright + green eyes. The other adult pieds I have seen go dark. I agree with you though I have seen some bright baby pieds that could be mistaken for a pastel pied but they darken over time (like normal BPs) but this guy is far from a baby. He's ready to breed as soon as I get him a g/f. :)

I'd say Pastel at 900 grams. Nice one too!

Thank you Brandon! I am excited to breed him, he's ready to go just trying to find him a lady with some size that can go this/next season (impatient I am!) ;)
