    He Ate!
As a follow up to my previous post about receiving my new BEL two days ago (the one where I couldn't figure out how to post photos......sorry) I am happy to report that he immediately ate the first f/t weaned rat I offered him last night. He weighs around 350 grams and the rat was 50 grams, so I think that's about the perfect size for one meal, don't you? Charlton Kangas (the breeder I purchased the BEL from) suggested I offer him a meal the day after I got him, and I was skeptical he would eat so soon after being shipped cross country. It sort of surprised me that he ate so readily. Charlton recommends feeding him on a 5 day schedule for the time being, and I intend to do that. Also, the BEL has a great personality. I've handled him briefly a couple of times and he is quite docile and seems to have a sweet temperament. I have him in a 10 gal tank for now and he appears to have settled in nicely. So far, so good!
