Q: How heavy can an adult ball python get (in lbs)?

Females can get upwards of up to maybe 1700 grams or around 3.5 LBS maybe bigger and considerably less for a male.

3000 grams is pretty big for a bp. And there are like 456 grams in a pound. A good female should weigh 3.5 pounds like Damien said, if not more. But you also have to factor in length. Bp's range from 3-5 feet on a typical basis. 3 feet tending to be small males, 5 being large females. Females tend to be thicker and heavier. Sex and length are massive factors.

My biggest two females this year are in the 3,600 - 4,000 gram range (around 8 - 9 lbs). They are around 7-8 years old (the record for a ball is like 47 years). I'm hoping to get 11-12 eggs out of each. I also have a 7 year old girl that only weighs about 2,000 grams so they don't all get big.

I swear I read some where that VPI had some around 20 lbs. At any rate there are females that have laid clutches in the 15 - 18 egg counts so I know they have to get bigger than mine. If a female laid 18 eggs averaging 120 grams each she would probably weigh about 6,480 grams (14 lbs) if you assume that she laid the usual 1/3 of her pre lay weight. However, it may well be that the very biggest girls lay huge eggs or don't lay the full 1/3.

Also, I had a male last year that weighed 2,000 grams (4.4 lbs). He was the biggest male I've seen so far (I was sure he was a female when I first saw him at the pet store but he bred and fathered babies). I don’t feed my males as heavy as my females but with age most of the ones I’ve raised are now pushing 1,500 grams but some still smaller.
