Humidity when using paper towel substrate
I'm considering a switch to paper towels as my substrate. The main thing holding me back is I'm not sure how to regulate humidity levels. I should preface this by saying I live in South Florida so humidity inside a home is generally pretty high (50-55%) especially this time of year. That said, what can I do to ensure stable humidity if I make the switch?

Are you using tubs? Or tanks?
Humidity when using paper towel substrate
You live in south fl, I'm pretty sure humidity isn't going to be an issue. Paper towels are an easy way to go :)
Re: Humidity when using paper towel substrate
What if we move this scenario to Michigan where humidity levels through much of the year are quite low. Currently using cypress mulch in a cb70 rack. Wouldn't mind switching to papertowel either but definitely concerned with humidity.
Re: Humidity when using paper towel substrate
In Florida, humidity is not likely to be a problem, especially in a rack. Go for it!
In Michigan, you could try it - perhaps misting every other day would be enough to compensate for the dryness, again, especially in a rack system. In a tank, I'd stick to the cypress, just because the top would allow a lot of humidity to escape.

Move the water bowl closer to the heat source, if it's too low. Move away if too high. :)

I do this I'm IL with my animal plastic and have had little diffucility with controlling it. (well.. When I measured if)
Re: Humidity when using paper towel substrate
It's pretty dry here in Oklahoma, 80% of the year. That trick works for me every time. I have no problems with humidity on aspen or paper towels.
