Eggs Dimpling Early??? Help??
My biggest female laid 10 good eggs yester day. They all candeled with veins. I found them as soon as they were laid. Overnight on the first night my temps were a bit low (86ish) but now thats fixed and my humidity went from 95% and droped to 60%. Now the eggs are dimpled. Im pretty sure the humidity is what did it. I put more vermiculite in it with alot more water then the light grate. I put wax paper over the top and then the lid. The temps are controled with herpstat. Every thing is good now (temps/ humidity). What about the dimpling? Please help...

Re: Eggs Dimpling Early??? Help??
use press n seal, not wax paper, not saran wrap. glad press n seal. your vermiculite should be really wet as the light grid will hold the eggs off of it. they didn't dimpled that bad and you caught it fast. just watch and make sure you don't get a lot of condensation on the top that will drip down on your eggs. if it becomes a problem. tilt the box a little so it run down the side of the box instead. and I open my box up every week if everything is going good. sooner if I'm having a problem. this will also give some fresh air. last 10 days to 2 weeks. peel a corner of the press n seal back (very small opening) so they continue to get fresh at this time. I also use plastic spoons to hold them from rolling around. and sometimes a lid over the press n seal if it doesn't stick good enough. good luck don
