    UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT! (well...)
Ok...not really "new" management! More like RENEWED management.

I'm sure most anyone who has been here for awhile has noticed a significant decline in participation by the site's admins (those of us with red names) and even some of the mod staff (those in green).

Life has a way of sneaking in and demanding more and more time and attention, until eventually, the habits and commitments of daily attention to BP.net are all but gone. There are always going to be times when we NEED to be away for awhile, but it becomes all too easy to assume others are going to cover for us, even when what is calling us away isn't all that urgent. We have a great team...it's what teams do...they cover for each other. It's one of the things (I believe) that has made BP.net such a phenomenal success over the years. But when the entire team starts assuming someone else is going to cover for them, we start seeing gaps.

ANYhow...it's not my intent to justify the lack of participation or to philosophize about team management. My intent is to publicly reaffirm my commitment to the site and reassure the members that we DO still have leaders here who care.

A lot of work goes on behind the scenes that never shows up here in the public forums, but it's still critical that we have a visible and vocal leader that members and staff can look to and know the site is in good hands.

Life is still busy. Work with The Reptile Report keeps me very busy and sucks a lot of my "Internet energy" every day. But this site is, and always will be, my baby. There's lots that needs to be cleaned up and fixed and some improvements that can be made. I'm making a list and checking it twice. :P It may not happen fast, but I'm working on it...

Good to know. I've fallen off a bit, and while I'm not a mod I do see how it can happen! I get one frequently, still, I just don't browse the forums as in depth as I used to. Maybe if I could access the site at work... LOL

I would be nice to access the site at work. To bad I work with no computers :(. But I do have my phone. XD

Ahhh leadership, such a fun occupation. You can see why I avoid it as much as possible.

Well, enough said, time for action. Lead on, oh my leader.

Thanks Mom, I think most of us older kids can get along without adult supervision for a while but it's reassuring to know that you're still around to give us a smack when we get out of line :D

Sometimes it becomes necessary to hand the torch off or share some of the responsibilities when life pulls you away. I had to make that call and here we are, a decade later going stronger than I ever could have hoped. I just realized that it's been a little over a decade now so I've made another one of my rare appearances to come and say job well done. I'm very proud of how this all turned out and what small role I played in the formative years. Job very well done.

I used to run a very active forum in an entirely different arena and a past life. The average poster has no idea how difficult it is and time consuming it can be to manage an endeavor like this.
