Puffy face.. Rash? Fleas?

So I have this pet mouse from a failed feeding attempt. Lately his face and eye looks messed up.. He is kept on random beddings from carefresh to toilet paper to kild dried pine.

Looks like allergies to me.. the red around the eyes

Hm okay. I guess he was allergic to something too. It's starting to go away now.

I had a mouse like that a few months ago, and I'm pretty sure it was allergies to the bedding I use. He was on aspen, but once I switched to kilned pine, he cleared up.

It's not allergies it's mites.

If it was mites, why did it resolve when the only thing changed was the bedding? Mites don't just "go away" without being treated.

How old is he? Something similar started happening with two of my ancient ASF when they started getting mammary tumors.

The porphyrin tears are usually not serious, and resolve on their own. The baldness is usually a sign of old age; neither of these are really mite signs...those are usually seen with full-body slope is and skin problems.
