Do you get anything like the enclosure with the snake? if you can get that then i'd say sure. from the lighting in the picture the flash I think is making him show he colors well, I suspect in normal room lighting he look less than stellar for a pastel (brown) with some decent highlighting towards the belly. I guess it also depends what you like in pastel patterns, I think his is pretty cool since I usually don't like the pastel gene on its own, it's super busy and distorted from his upper 1/3rd up to his head. Head has ok blushing. I like how it looks like the patterns changes to a banded for the bottom 1/2 of the snake.
I would say $50 bucks is a good deal if you like the pastel, and I'm assuming you have plans for breeding him now?
I would also say to give him a thorough inspection first, since he is local ask to go on feeding day and watch him feed? Tell him you'll return in a couple days after it has digested to pick it up, if you still want it.

$50 is pretty average for that quality animal.

It's a fine deal for what you're getting, which is an okay pastel, but I if you're planning to breed or anything, I think you should shoot for something of a nicer quality.

And as far as males go, 75 for a good quality one is pushing it. At least around my neck of the woods.

I actually havent otten it yet, was kind of leary about the quality as well, just thought it seemed kind of low. But he does look kinda "half finished"

You should always inspect a CL animal before you take it home. However, I would personally almost laugh at you, a stranger, if you thought you were going to come into my home and my collection to watch a snake of any price eat.
