    Yes.

Just do not feed male rats orange peel or orange juice. Something in the orange skin gives them liver or kidney failure.

You can feed me fig newtons if you also provide a glass of milk for dunking.

Yes and yes. Most human food is okay for rat consumption. Like mentioned don't give male rats citrus. There's a lot of good lists available online of what you can feed rats.

The reason I asked is I looked it up before and there are some fruits you should not feed. They say anything with a pith is not good like peaches and plums. And some beans aren't good unless cooked.

    Yeah thats basically it.
You can feed them the meat of the things with pits, just not the pit itself as they usually have toxins. Like if you fed them peach just give them the meat. Same with avacado.

My rats love all stale items, fresh fruit and veg(no citrus), dry or cooked pasta, dried fruits... they're remarkably unpicky.

Don't be surprised if you give them something new and they nibble it and set it aside. Sometimes they test something to see if it will make them sick, or so I was told.

I gave the house rats a bite of cheeseburger the other day. They went nuts, they loved it.
