    Help! BP WONT EAT!
So my male bp came out of shed about a week and a half ago. I don't feed during the shed so he ate about 2 weeks prior to him going into the blue. He was an active eater before the shed. He was eating one large rat a week. After he shed completely I offered the same food I normally do and he seemed frightened of it. But I know he is hungry because actively shows signs of hunger, but won't touch the rat. So I waited another week to try again...and again he tastes the air in front of the rat but won't strike. I lay it in front of the hide overnight, he shows no interest. I just don't understand what happened. My humidity was a little low during shed but is back normal now. 90 belly heat, 85 ambient, 80 ambient coolside. Maybe should I try smaller rats?..... Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Sounds like a typical male in spring. How old is he? I would try offering less often.

Like every other week I think should be fine. Usually random strikes only last a couple of months. If he was really hungry, then he would eat. He's just being stubborn...

I go by 7-10 days, I haven't had a finnicky eater yet. But one of mine won't eat with anyone watching. I have to put him under the bed.

In breeding season (your snake is likely looking for a mate) if they are being stubborn, I would offer at minimum every 14 days, perhaps even every 21 days.

He will eat when he wants to. So long as he is not losing excessive weight, I promise you, he will be fine!

Well I already think he looks like he is losing a lil weight from not eating for almost a month, but I will keep an eye on his weight. I mean he is patrolling the cage right now
which I would take as hunger because that's whar he normally does when he is hungry. But maybe he is looking for a mate!? I just hope this strike or whatever he is doing is over soon because I don't like it Haha.
