    Scared BP
My mystic female twitches all over the place when i try to handle her. Ive only tried like 3 times. I tried feeding her twice but she just runs away and balls up. How much time does she need to settle in? Ive had her since march 17.

I'd not handle her at all until she feeds for you at least twice. Then you'll know she's settled in and comfortable.

Thanks. She seems real scared though. My mojave was kinda nervous when i first got him but he settled in after about a week of handling and was fine. The mystic is in panic mode from the moment i open lid to her container.

Pics of her enclosure? Does she have two close-fitting hides? What's her temps and humidity? How big is her enclosure?

If she's little, the enclosure might be too big. You can try balling up some newspaper or other paper and putting it around the edges to close in the space and make her feel more secure.

Being new to snakes in general each ball ive gotten I brought home put in tub and left undisturbed for a whole two weeks only changing water and paper towel, and check temps. So far ive had zero problems with them settling in very smoothly.

So it shouldn't be that the enclosure is too big... my 500 gram girl is in a 10 gal and doesn't have any issues. I'd just give her some time alone until she's eating, then maybe start handling.
