What is a good starter size for a baby bp? And could I simply buy a big enlosure and put some sort of separater to make the cage smaller? So when it is time to move to a larger enclosure I can just slowly move separater untill he is ready for a full sized enclosure?

a 10 gallon tank is acceptable for a hatchling. remember, dont put a small BP in a huge tank. i wuld move to a different inclosure when he/she grows as long as the tank. an adult BP can live in a 30 gallon tank minimum for life. ive thought of the divider idea, but never tryed it. i dont see the harm in it, but others will surely know more

seperators can work - but close=comfort for BP's like Rex said. You can get larger enclosures - we've debated this one haha but you have to get more water dishes and more hides - BP's like it safe so if you have a big enclosure be sure your guy doesn't have to be out in the open too long (exposed) to thermoregulate himself or he may just decide not to do it :) If you are looking to buy a big cage to perhaps use a seperator with check out Item #T3 this is the cage I just ordered and I'm going from my 20L aquarium to this one (my BP is a year old) but I'm gonna make sure there are plenty of hides and watering holes and also some sticks or fake plants for cover so he doesn't stress.
Item #T3 (terrestrial Cages):

So basicly if I want to pt a small bp in a large cage add lots of hides, water bowls, and vines and stuff, right?

Everyone forgot to mention that Sterilite or Rubbermaids work good for baby ball pythons. Then you can move them to the 20L or get a bigger sterilite. And your assumption is correct, if you want to put a small ball in a big enclosure just give him some security.
