    proper size tub / rack
Ok i've read a few posts on here about racks and tubs and a usual ino overload. Right now I have a single normal male in a tank. Wasn't thinking of breeding or getting more then and didn't find this site til after i got him. So all those mistakes behind, I had settled on getting a female morph and a t8 from animal plastics. I just ordered to female bumble bee and had a really good convo with the seller who strongly advised on getting a rack. I am still not 100% on breeding and figure i've got 2-3 years before i need to start worrying about it. I don't have a thermally regulated room right now, but I could get a space heater for the extra bedroom if needed. Ok that's the set up now for the questions. I would have 2 snakes 300g or less. I figured If I get a rack 3-4 tubs would be fine, but what size tubs. I've seen that females need 41qt+ as adults but what about know? Would it be ok to get a 3-4 tub 41qt rack now, or do I need to get a smaller one and then upgrade? Would it be better to do idividual tubs now and then get the rack later, or just stick with my original thougt of a t8 and then maybe a rack in a few years if I ultimately decide to breed?

Since you don't have any immediate plans for breeding and you want to get the T8, I say just go with that. Give your girl time to grow up and if you do plan on breeding in the future, get a 41qt rack for your girls and a 32qt rack for your boys (they don't need a 41 qt but you can put them in those tubs if you would like). Then, you can worry about the space heater, etc. This will also give you a little time to save up for racks, a herpstat 4 (so your rack, incubator, and baby racks can all be on the same thermostat), and food/supplies for any babies you produce.

so you only need one thermostat for a rack no matter how many tubs you have? Defitely a hobbyist here so I was thinking a 4 tub 2 males 2 females would be fine and then a separate for hatchlings, although i've seen the posts on the inevitable addiction as well. Just dont want to go broke buying a bunch of enclosures that i get rid of in a year or two. I'm already scrapping the one i've got. Thanks a lot for the input btw.

Yes, one thermostat per rack will work fine.

That is a tough call. If you get a rack and have empty tubs, you will most definitely fill them faster than you had originally intended. However, a T8 wouldn't be a bad idea either. It wouldn't be a waste of money that's for sure! You could always just leave your two prettiest snakes in the T8 and then have a rack for the others.

That sounds like a reasonable plan. I'll be giving animal plastics a call tomorrow. With these two girls to start with

Absolutely gorgeous BPs, nighttrain. I particularly like the lesser. I keep holding out hope that I'll be be able to get one some day in the not to distant future.
