Normal to be out of hide during shed?

My snake has been going into shed for the last few days. I've left him alone and gave him his space, besides just checking up on him.
but my humidity wasn't were it was a post to be at, mid 20s so his skin got a little winkly. So I've started to spray the tanked twice, sometimes 3 times a day and so far the humidity has risen.
But last 2 nights I notice him out of his hides. I two hides one on warm and one on hot. he leans towards the warm side. but he doesn't go in the hide he goes above it/behind it
it's a belly hide. I figure it might be a little to hot? I don't have a thermostat (I know shame on me.) but I'm getting one in a few days. I figure warm side to be about 80-83 and hot to be about 89 - 91.

Should I try upping the moister? or lowering the heat? or is it perfectly normal for them to be out of hide?

The cage isn't in closed, It's a 55 gal fish tank, should I try to inclose it? Hes been in shed for about a week (started on Wensday.) so he has about a week togo.

I guess it's normal if he's only doing it during the shed cycle.... Mine comes out and basks during her shed. Just leave things how they are as long as he has access to warm and cool temps when he needs it, and do your best to keep the humidity up. 60's and 70's humidity are good for a shedding beep.

if you'e using an unregulated UTH, there's a very good chance it's much too hot. Try putting something between the UTH and the tank temporarily until you get a thermostat. If you care about your snake's well being, please, please make the thermostat a priority. This is one of the basics that reptiles need. it is not an option! I see too many people going without a thermostat and it is just plain and simple too hot! Get a digital thermometer and make sure you're not cooking the poor little guy.
