    Question/Opinions about Mites.
My gfs 2 Hedgehogs got mites and were taken to the vet and treated with Revolution.

I have seen a few mites in the snakes water bowl.
I know mites are host specific but I am concerned.

The hedgehogs have been moved (they were previously close to the racks against my liking).

Of 22 snakes, I found 1 mite on 2 snakes. But with a close examination they are not infested. I am not fully convinced that the mites are feeding on the snakes, but am I being naive? My reasoning was that they crawled to the rack from the hedgehog cage next to it.

The vet supplied a spray bottle of Ivometcin Topical Environmental Spray. Is it safe to spray on the rack (without the snake totes of course)?

    Any thoughts/suggestions?
    Should I treat with PAM?

    Question/Opinions about Mites.
I have never had mites (knocks on wood) I do have a bottle of the stuff below on hand just incase. I like it because it is completely non toxic and can be directly sprayed onto the reptile.

I have used Reptile Spray and it worked great. I highly recommend it. Petco has it if you don't want to order it.

So far as I know, reptile mites will only live on reptiles and I think the lack of fur makes it hard for other types of species to live on them. I would hold off on the PAM until you know you have an infestation. Using the nuclear bomb that is Provent a Mite should be done carefully.
