Need some help with a Boa.
I deal primarily in ball pythons but love the look of Boa's.
Not lookin for anything fancy but...

I was wondering how much a female Argentine ready to breed is worth?

That will depend on her genetics and who you are buying from. Generally, if you are just looking at a normal female that is not het for T+ (the only color morph found in pure Argentines), then a fair price might be around 400-600 depending on size and whether or not she's proven.

However, having said that, Argentines are touchy snakes and I generally don't recommend one as a "first boa". If you have tons of experience keeping reptiles, then maybe. Husbandry is quite simple and they are hardy, but a female will grow up to be a very large and impressive serpent (males will too for that matter). To top it off, Argentines can have quite an attitude. Be prepared to have a heavy-bodied 10 ft snake that can do a marvelous impression of a king cobra.....

Argentines also need a minimum of a 6x2x2 ft cage so you need to make sure you have the space for that before you buy. :gj:

Are you looking at a particular animal? If so, if you can post a pic of her, we might be able to give you a better idea of value.
