    Hi all,
I have decided that I am tired of taking film to get developed and would really like a digital camera.
Does anyone know where/what model of digital camera I can get that is decent, but cheaply priced? Im not looking for anything fancy...
    thanks in advance...

    Couple of Q's.

How much you looking to spend? <$100 or <$200? There's quite a few out there in either price range now which offer decent resolution, image and color quality. We've got the Canon Digital Elph S110 (older 2 megapixel model) that still kicks some pretty decent ass. Maybe you could get folks to post here what they own and a sample pic. Here's a downsampled vers of the elph pic:

I'll find some reviews/comparisons and come back with a link.

    wow, that pic looks good.
I am hoping to find somthing in the lower $100s that takes a decent pic if possible.

That is a great idea. Those of you that own digital cameras if you wouldnt mind posting a pic, telling what model of camera it is, and how much you spent on it that would be fantastic!

Keep an eye out for good deals on "older" models. I got an excellent deal on a Kodak EasyShare CX6330 3.1 megapixel 10x zoom because they had just come out with a slightly newer version of the same thing.

And look for one that uses "regular" batteries. Mine takes 2 AA batteries. They make special ones for the camera that last much longer than ordinary AA's, but they will still work great in a pinch. VERY convenient!

Weird. They are more now than they were a few years ago (~$250) - for that same model which is only 2.1 megapixels. That doesn't seem right. I confess this is the first (and only) digital camera I've had. Our youngest wants on for hsi birthday so we'll be able to compare this to a sub-$100 camera (with more megapixels) in the next couple of weeks. I posted thinking you could pick up that same model for considerably less than I did :(

Froogle wasn't being very helpful so I had to resort to that Simon dealie:
