Mites??? Normal Coloration???
So I had this butter pastel girl for awhile and her color always looks.... pixelated. I didn't pay much attention to it. Just now when i went to clean out her enclosure i notice little flakes in the water. Than I panicked. Check her over and i see some black spots in various place some looks like her pattern but some also look like mites according to google image. Shes on newspaper and is feeding great 1 small rat every week except for shed. My bumblebee which lives below her on the rack doesn't seems to be affected and there is no spots at all on the tummy. Am I worrying too much???

Mites??? Normal Coloration???
Lol. Worried parent?! :) it doesn't look like mites to me but snag a closer pic if your worried. My pastel has black specks in random spots down his side if you look really closely also. Just part of mines pattern though.
Mites??? Normal Coloration???
There is no so thing as worrying to much. Just so long as your worrying isn't causing any unnecessary stress to the animal. :). Beautiful BP by the way.
Sorry for the double post. :/
Mites??? Normal Coloration???
The little "flakes" on the scales are normal but in this one pic it kind of looks like a mite under the scale in the center. You should be able to move the scale around enough to see if its actually mites. They like to dig in between the scales, and hang near the eyes and pits.

Mites??? Normal Coloration???
You can tell if they are mites. In the water bowl, you can usually see legs and such. Also if you can see black flakes in the paper towel, mites will move around. So if the flakes start moving on their own, then you have mites.
Mites??? Normal Coloration???
The only time I've seen mites is at a pet store, but I spotted them because they were moving around on the back of the snake. Yours doesn't look like mites.
