    Idiotic Baby Names
Celebrities like to give their children stupid names like Blanket, Apple, Jermajesty, and Diva Thin Muffin Pigeen (you guess the celebrity parents). I have no idea why - attention seeking behavior, maybe? There are plenty of "normal" people, though, who seem to drop a few IQ points when it comes to naming their kids. I've met a Wilda Wolfe (parents thought it was cute), a Hyman Wiener (named after his grandparents and hated hated hated it), a Peter Picker (this kid seriously put up with a lot in junior high). What are some bad names you've come across?

Any boy or girl named after a state. And the thousands of girls with names like McKenna, McKinzie, McKayla. These are all Irish and Scottish LAST NAMES, not first names.

When I was in grade school, there were two brothers named Bo and Tye. They also put up with a LOT.

While the celeb do seem to come up with different names.....

Wilda Wolfe (parents thought it was cute) - I don't see the problem, is there a pop culture reference im missing? Sounds like a pretty girl's name to me. Unless it was a boy, then he had what sounds like a pretty girl's name to me lol. but thats not uncommon really.
a Hyman Wiener (named after his grandparents and hated hated hated it) - Traditionalists.... what more is there to say? Sorry for your luck kid.
a Peter Picker (this kid seriously put up with a lot in junior high). - His last name was picker, hes was going to put up with a lot in school no matter what they named him.

For anyone who can deal with mature language, lewis black has a skit on this subject, its awesome.

One that has always stuck in my mind, I heard someone named/tired to name their kid "la-a".... and the dash an't silent.

I knew a Crystal Dragon in high school, although I though that was kind of cool.
Working at summer camp I've seen a few weird ones, Soultrain sticks out.

I never met her, but my dad says he had an aunt named Olive Oyle.

I think what drives me nuts more than names, is how people try to spell them differently. My name is "Nicole". Because of all the different spellings, no one can EVER spell my name right... It isn't that hard to figure out either! Some variations include Nichol, Nicholle, and less commonly Nikole and Nickole.

I agree with the spelling thing.

If you're going to name your kid Aaron, spell it Aaron. I know an Aeryn. Spell it Catherine, not Kathryn. Spell it Jason, not Jaisen.. Brittany, not Britnee. The list goes on and on. You're not being unique or cute, you're being a pain in the butt for the kid who's going to have to spell out their common name to every single person who asks it.

I sometimes work in the junior section of a snowboard shop, and I met a little girl named River the other day. I thought it was nice, but that's about as weird as I'd ever go (and I'm not even sure I'd even go that way if I ever wanted kids).
