    THG Heat tape question
In another thread reptile basics linked to their site when a question was raised about soldering the heat tape. They showed the THG heat tape being soldered on the side OPPOSITE the copper strips. Is that the preferred way of doing it with this heat tape? I've always soldered the flexwatt on the SAME side as the strips. I just picked up 25 feet of this stuff for a new rack I'm building and wanted to know if soldering THG heat tape the way it shows is the way it's supposed to be done, the easiest way, or just what they happened to show. Thanks dudes!

The way the THG laminate is designed, it is easier to solder from the dark side (not the copper side). It is easy to cut and peel the laminate from this side. Be very careful not to cut through all the layers, or the entire tape.

Step by step guide on soldering THG heat tape here.

What I do is I take my solder and I have one tip with flat ending - I use it to remove plastic cover from the copper strip (I remove only as much as I need to solder it properly). Then I change the tip for soldering :). This way I don't cut through anything :D. And as it heats up it's very easy to remove the plastic cover :).

What type of rivets/fasteners does RBI use with their THGHeat chip sets?
