do not over feed!

So my dums i have moved up to weened rats at 200ish grams. i was using small weened rats and move up to 40-45g ones when she his 300g. they were leaving a small lump in her belly. well she wasnt too active not even at night. i go to bed at 11ish and get up for work at 2am. i take a nap when i get home and i never once used to see her moving around her tank. well since i got my bcc i decided to move her food size down because she was getting plump.
Ever since i did that she is crazy active at night now like a boa should be. she is a completly differnt snake. shes around 330ish right now i would say and i dropped her down to 25-30g weened rats and that was the best move i could of done. her average growth is about an inch a month and i got her in nov at 150g she is now around 330 like i said. i cant wait till she is touching the 4-5 foot mark.

Good call. Boas in general are eating machines that will put away anything they can, whenever they can. But because they have fairly slow metabalisms they will get obese fast and end up with tiny little pin heads if they are over feed. I perfer to keep them on mice as long as possible in fact to help reduce the speed they grow at. Remember a lean and hungry boa is a healthy boa. :gj:
