inclusion body disease?

I have a pinstripe ball python and the past 3 days he has been doing what seems like star gazing but he seems to have complete control of his movements. He also stopped eating a couple days before he started to "stargaze". Sometimes when i hold him he will wrap around my arm but when he does this his neck has a little corkscrew. Other than the things i mentioned he moves around perfectly normal. Could this be the start of inclusion body disease? I have three other ball pythons and I'm worried my whole collection might get IBD.

As a precaution it is always best to quarentine the snake in question so just in case the potential IBD is not spread to the others. One way I was shown was to hold the snake by its lower body and try to turn it upside down and see if it can right itself. IBD can be very similar to the systoms of the wobbles that the spider gene causes. You should youtube IBD videos to compare your snakes actions. Stargazing and lack of appetite could also be a sign of an upcoming RI.

Can you take a video of this? I find that a lot of my snakes do things that resemble stargazing, but none of them have IBD.

How are the temps? Im pretty sure high temps can cause neurological issues too.

Any spider genes in his bloodline at all?

IBD is pretty uncommon. There are lots of other things you should consider before IBD.

This is very true, IBD is very serious and has what is looking like a possibility of long incubation times.

There are a huge number of issues that can bring on IBD like symptoms. High temps are a big one and chemical poisoning is another. Mite treatments have caused neurological damage if misused and even some disinfectants can as well.

Has your snake been treated for mites lately? Any temps issues have you checked your temps recently? What is the hottest place in the enclosure? has there been any other odd occurrences?

It could also just be normal too. I am unable to view the video link currently so I have not seen it.
