    questions about behavior
So we have a little Sandboa...and most of the time he hides and sleeps during the day and in the evenings is sometimes active. But lately he's been cruising his tank more often. This morning he was crawling all over the tank and my daughter sat by him while she ate her breakfast. When she put her fingers up to the glass he struck at her (striked? Struck looks weird). Anyway, this is NOT typical behavior as sometimes he doesn't even strike at his food. I did just recently switch him from pinkies to fuzzies. his temps look good and I haven't changed anything that I've been doing. He's in sand since I'm highly allergic to Aspen and other plant matter, but he never gets fed in the sand. He just ate on Tuesday night. Any thoughts?

How much does he weigh, what did the prey weigh, and how often are you feeding him? I'm not familiar with sand boas, but these answers might help others offer ideas.

There are not very many people on these forums who are familiar with sand boas. I don't like to offer advice on a species I have no experience with. However, it sounds like typical quirky behavior to me. I know my BCIs do weird things sometimes and it's nothing but weirdness. Sounds like your guy may have just been startled and/or just overly interested in the movement outside his enclosure.... :gj:
