What Should My Next Feeding Size Be?

Hello all, it's been a while since I've posted.

I have a question about feeding my corn snake. He has been eating the same size meal for a while now (when we first started feeding him fuzzies we were misled; at that age it was probably power-feeding, but oh well), and he seemed content about it until recently. He has gotten much longer, but his girth has not increased substantially yet. My question here is should I feed him two fuzzies instead of one at each meal, or should I move up to the next size mouse (hoppers, I believe?)

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

But without knowing its size or seeing a pic usually (IMO) it's time to move up in feeder size when one smaller sized feeder isn't cutting it and you need to double up per feeding. I'd feed double fuzzies though if you still have some so you don't waste them.

I normally go by their girth size and feed something up to 1.5 times the size of that. Every so often I'll feed slightly larger if that's what I happen to have but overall, corns will try to eat just about anything so I don't like pushing it too much. I'd use up what you have left of the smaller ones and then switch to the next size up. If they act hungry, I'll give them 2 without an issue. You'll know if they start getting fat and that's what you want to avoid.

I've never had an issue with it so far! The only thing I've changed is that everyone 24g and over get a fuzzy...I don't specify small or large. However, when I'm digging in the bag of fuzzies, I'll pick a 4 or 5g for that snake vs. a 5 or 6g for a larger snake (like closer to the 40-50g range).

There is absolutely no need to weigh feeders and corns when choosing what to feed. I start with small pinkies and feed once a week until there is no noticeable lump (or barely noticeable) after eating the mouse. Then I move up to large pinks and wait for no lump. Then fuzzies, small mice, etc. I stop at jumbo mice even if no lump. A large jumbo mouse is plenty for all but the largest corns.

Also don't worry about heterogeneity with feeder sizes. If one feeder is on the smaller or larger size don't fret. The snake will do just fine with a slightly larger or smaller mouse.

So with yours feed a fuzzy. If no visible lump move to hopper, etc.
