Corn is acting abnormal

I dont know where i should have put this thread, but my corn has been acting extremely active and wont eat ever since i got my ball python. They are in the same room but not close. I am probably just being paranoid but he is so active. He comes and says hi when i walk in the room. He tries to find a way out.. anything. Just wont stop moving. This is abnormal for him because he is usually ALWAYS hiding. Always.. even at night. And now around 10 he is out and roaming. Kinda like he is trying to tell me he is hungry but then when i go to feed him... he doesnt wanna anything to do with it.

You should check your temps. Can you describe your setup? Like temps, what you are using to heat the enclosure, if you have a t-stat, and what the habitat looks like. That'll help a lot.

This. It sounds like a temp issue or a stress issue (if you've changed the tank recently). Corns are not known to go of feed so that tells me something isn't right with your husbandry.

Corns are more nocturnal, so him being out at night isn't abnormal for a corn. I agree with above, a read on temps could hold the answer. Or maybe he is in breeding mode?

I havent really changed anything at all except for i put a towel on the screen to keep some heat in. The warm side is 84 and hot spot is 90. Cool is around 72. I have a tstat as well and i keep that around 90. He is on aspen bedding with water, lots of hides and vines. :( shoot

And there lies the problem, the hot spot should be 85 degrees. 90 is much too high, no wonder he has been more active. Try switching it to 85 and see how he likes it :gj:

x2. I keep my corns at 85-86 for a hot spot.

I bet he'll start acting like normal once that's fixed.

Hes still freaking out and acting weird. I am starting to think he is looking for a mate and off feed because he is trying to find a female because its spring.

You're probaly right. My jungle carpet male does this too.
