    Stacking cage help
So I'm really really toying with the idea of purchasing my axanthic female soon (I'll be breeding in a few years so why not get my female to size by then). But if I did that I'd want to upgrade my current tank setup as well and get two cages to stack on top of each other. What do you guys recommend without breaking the bank? I'd like them to neatly fit on top of each other and be big enough to use when they're adult size. I plan to just stuff the tank full of items so they don't feel overwhelmed.

So what maker/model/ideas on heating it, etc? MUCH appreciated.

Will a full grown female need the entire cage to herself? Edit: Meaning no divider, not housing two snakes together just to clarify.

And thanks for the help guys! Reading the thread posted now. :)

You can keep a full grown BP in 1/2 of a T8. The exception would be very large females, but they are very rare. Anything shy of 5,000 grams should be fine.

Thank you! And oh man I just looked at the dimensions of the cage. It'd be like having another 75 gallon tank in the room in terms of length. :O If only I didn't need room for clothes or a desk. My room is very tiny and is mostly taken up by my bed and 75 gallon aquarium. My desk and shelves are actually in the "closet" which has it's doors removed to add a bit more room.

I'll have to ponder over some rearranging.. or get rid of my desk and get a laptop. I've been wanting to get a mac but I was thinking desktop. Hmm.

AP does make smaller units. I usually don't recommend them as the T8 is the best deal as far as amount of cage per $$ but if space is an issue they make cages significantly smaller. You could get T1's that are only 24" x 24" x 12" (exactly half the size of a T8 or the same size as each half of a divided T8) Since they stack vertically you could easily house 6 BP's with only a 24" x 24" foot print (more if you have high roofs and a step stool/ladder)

Here is their website so you can see all they offer: http://www.animalplastics.com

You want their T series cages (T stands for terrestrial)

Oh man. The smaller T1 is MORE expensive than the T8. Wow! So I've been doing a lot of thinking today and I may just go with the laptop so I can get rid of the desk in the closet area. The cage would sit nearly perfectly in the nitch. Do you know how much it weighs? I'd need to CL the tank and stand I have for it to get them gone, but I'm wondering how hefty a stand I'm going to need.

They weigh about 50 pounds with the glass doors on, maybe a little less.
