    To Breed...or Not To Breed.....
Hey all...Just wanted to get opinions on what you guys/gals do with snakes that you are on the fence about. I have 2 male Bees. One I am breeding for sure, the other I just don't know. He's much browner than his brother (almost an olive green color) and I am assuming that since he browned out early, his offspring will brown out as well. Would you guys just pair up and see what happens or only breed your "holdback"? Both females are normal BTW. Thanks.

IMO, since you only have two females, you only need the one male. I would only breed the best example I can in order to hopefully produce the best offspring that I can.

Well, you can breed your one 'holdback' male to both females. Males can pair with 3 or 4 females, you just need to be vigilant about their health and well being, since the often go off feed during the breeding season. You need to give them a couple of days' break after each pairing.

I am not yet to the point of breeding any of my snakes, but from my experience in the past with breeding rats, which I will likely carry over to the snakes... If I were hesitant about any particular animal, I would not breed it. Breeding should be a sure thing. True, you don't always know what you'll get, but unless there is GOOD reason to breed that animal, and unless something about it really gets you excited, just pass. There will always be other, better fish to fry...

Thanks everyone. I knew my gut feeling was correct. Take care.
