    Snake Bit By Mouse!
last night my bp was bit by a hopper mouse while constricting it. this is the first time this has ever happened in my eight years of keeping snakes and live feeding. the bit was very small, the hoppers teeth slipped in underneath her scales. i pulled its head up so it wouldnt be stuck in her while she contricted it. she ate it like normal. i quickly cleaned the spot with rubbing alcholol and put neosporin on it, the only reason i knew where the spot was was there was a little bump there, no blood. at that point i called the local petstore where i get my feeders, told the owner what happened, she said to clean it and put neo on it for 3 days then let it scab. she said it should be okay since i caught it right away and cleaned it. after i got off the phone i looked at it and saw that the bump was pink. i think it may have been bleeding a little bit at that point. later on in the night i was going to clean it and neo it without pulling her out and i had a good idea of where the bit was but i would not find it. there was no bump to be found, no pink spot, no oil spread from the neo, nothing. and i know where it should have been so i put the neo where i knew the bite had happened on her right side, about a third of the way down her body on her side and let her be. today i didnt see a bump or pink spot either. im taking this as a good sign.
any thoughts appreciated ive never had this happen.....

A hopper mouse can't do much damage. I wouldn't have even treated it, if it were mine. They are going to get nips and scratches now and then with live feeding.

She will be just fine. You shouldn't have to do anything. Alcohol is really irritating to skin, so stop that right away. But otherwise, you're fine.

when I 1st got my bp I was such a naïve noob. I threw in the wrong sized rat (large) and she ended up getting bit on her head. I fixed her up with Neosporin and learned a hard lesson. I don't know about feeding little mice, but when I feed her rats I use a plastic rod to help keep her safe from rat teeth.

she will be fine. My bp has been bitten to the point of being really bloody. I freak out and 2 shed later she is perfectly fine. the rat that bite my bp was a small rat, yours is a hopper it will perfectly fine
