    doesn't like hides
So my boy is 166 grams, have the 2 small reptile basics hides, one on cold other on the hot spot. He doesn't use them. Thought maybe he was too small for them so I stuff them with paper and still doesn't use them. He used the one on the hot side once when he was in shed but that's it. I also have a huge log that has a split down the middle and a piece of flat cork. He uses the flat cork to hide under which is on the cold side. He's eats every week, showing no signs of stress at all however I'm a little concerned. Since there's no flat cork to hide under on the hot side is it possible he's choosing security over heat? I was thinking about removing the hot side hide and put an identical piece of cork there. Does that sound like a good idea or I shouldn't worry about it too much?

here's a pic of the cage. The flat cork on the left is what he uses

btw, he almost to big to fit under the cork now. It just basically sits on top of him

I use the same hides and it took awhile for my guy to use them. He was originally in a breeders rack until he came to me, so they might have been a bit foreign to him (?). He would curl up beside them at first, then I eventually just placed one over him. He loves them, now. Good luck!
