Any preference on room humidifiers? Warm mist, cool mist, ultrasonic? Our snakes sleep in our bedroom so the humidity is for both us and our precious...balls ;)

I have a cheap warm mist humidifier: http://www.target.com/p/vicks-evapor...erm=humidifier

I would go with a warm mist humidifier. All of the other types of humidifiers require a lot more maintenance to keep them running and to prevent bacterial growth. Warm mist humidifiers on the other hand boil water to create steam. This prevents bacterial growth and the only issue is sediment build up left behind by the evaporated water. running some vinegar through the humidifier every few weeks should prevent that buildup from becoming problematic. Another way to avoid the build up is to always use filtered/distilled water in the humidifier. I use water from a Brita filter or my RO/DI system and very rarely have to remove sediment buildup.

I use Venta Airwashers and highly recommend them. They are pricey but they work great and there are no gross filters.

I have a warm mist upstairs and a ultrasonic downstairs. They both work well.
I clean the ultrasonic enough that I don't worry about bacteria growth.

If its really dry like it is here. Look for a large tank.

Thanks. I'll just go with a warm mist. For our master bedroom, but it's not huge so I am sure one from Target or Walgreens will be fine.
