What is this?

So starting to notice some redness on my BPs stomach. Its towards her tail. im not sure if you can see in the picture but her scales are more separated/ mayb swollen/different in this area.
She does have a heating pad under the tank that she spends alot of time on. Could it be a burn? I felt it with my hand and it doesn't seem to hot. but i guess im not sure. Also she hasn't been eating either, not sure if they would be related or not. hasn't lost any weight tho. she is steady around 725g.
Does anyone have any idea on what this is?

Hard to say could be from coming up on a shed or could be a burn. Is this the only spot? When mine get red belly for a shed it covers a lot more length of the belly.

Touching the hotspot with your hand is no way to tell the temp. I would suggest investing in a temp gun.

The lack of eating could well be related to this if it is a thermal issue.

First, we would need a better description of your husbandry(pics help) to help determine the problem. Is your heating pad regulated by a thermostat? If it's not then that very well could be a burn. Without a thermostat heating pads should not be used. If they should fail they can heat up to over 130+ and burn or kill your snake. If that redness is not located anywhere else on the animal it might be time for a vet visit for some burn ointment. Anyone else please chime in.

It is hard to tell from one pic but the scales look "lifted" like there is some fluid retention in the area.

I would take your snake to a vet to be checked out. I don't think an exam and treatment for scale rot or a burn are all that expensive and a correct diagnosis will help you make whatever changes you might need to for your animals health and comfort.

Ok here is a picture of the tank. The heating pad is not regulated with a thermostat. It is just a pad from petco. how do i put a thermostat on it?
The redness is not located in any other spot. just this one by the tail end. she doesn't seem to react differently if i touch it, doesn't seem to be painful.
Also she seems a little on the dry side, almost like she is going to shed soon, hard to tell tho. But i have noticed the redness for a little over a week.

Here is a link to one of the best priced thermostats available. I've used this product since October and it works fine for me. Other purpose built thermostats can get very expensive. You would plug the heating pad into the thermostat, and put the probe that comes out from it between the heating pad and the glass. It will measure the heat coming out of it. You simply set it to whatever temp needed for the temp in the terrarium to be 90-92 degrees. You have have to set it up between 95-100 degrees to attain proper temps inside the terrarium because some heat is lost through the glass and any substrate. This will now keep temps regulated and keep your animal safe.

I have also used this for about 6 months now. Works like a charm.

Ok ill order one. Thoughts on snake tho. Should I take her into the vet? Or just wait and see

I'm not a good judge on burns so I wouldn't know. Some people on here know about how to treat burns.

It's definitely not the worst I've seen though.
