bin size for 100g ball python
what length and width is good for a 100-gram male ball python?
i have a purple semi-seethrough bin made of sterlight thats 19-inch long, 13-inch wide. the height is already good, its a small height.

you should be able to keep them in a 17qt until at least 500g or so. Then up to 1000g in a 38qt tub. Males then go to a 32qt tub and breeding females into a 41qt tub.
That's how I've got mine sized. However, that said, I've had my sub adults in 28qt tubs since I got them (both around 100g). I just moved them to a 32qt rack and they've done fine with a couple of hides in the tubs. Now that they are 500g and outgrowing their hides, I'll be removing the hides to see if they continue to eat well.
In summary of what I do(because I know I just rambled):
- hatchlings to 200g = 6 qt tub
- 200g to 500g = 12 qt tub
- 500g to 1000g = 28qt tub
- males over 1000g = 32 qt tub
- females are 1000g = 41 qt tub
Granted, you can keep a smaller snake in a larger tub so long as you offer plenty of hides and clutter to make them feel secure. I've housed 200g ball pythons in 28qt tubs with hides and have had no problems.

unless 17qt and 6 qt isnt that big of a difference?
It all depends on what the dimensions are. 6qt is quite a bit smaller than 17qt. Remember you could make a 17qt tub using a million different dimensions that would still equal 17qts.

I use the "basic Clear" style bins in my rack & they only offer 6, 16 , 28, & 41qt in the shorter sizes. do you use this http://www.sterilite.com/SelectProdu...=252§ion=1 for the males?

For your sake, you can do hatchlings - 200g in 6qt, 200g-600g in 16qt, 600-1000 + males in 28qt tubs, and breeding females in 41 qt tubs. That should be fine. Just watch your snake's behavior and if they go off feed, trying a smaller or larger tub, hides or no hides.
