Aiight I read it and got a good idea. I think for me it'd be easier to use a heating pad. The pad would go UNDER the container and not inside right? and if Im using the pad would I still need a source of light or no? and also if any of you have any idea if a hide will fit inside the container, along with a water dish and still leave the snake room? I'll need a biiiig container but I dont know how big they get.

The most important heat source for a ball python is belly heat. A heat lamp is not required. Just make sure to test out the heat pad. And the pad will go outside and under the container on one side only this way you have one cool side and a warm side. I put together a 90 QT howto here http://www.ball-pythons.net/PNphpBB2...ic-t-2825.html.

You dont need a light but they do appreciate it. But they could care less just as long as you have a hide over the pad you will be ok.

Remember you will need to fit 2 hides and a water dish. The hides dont have to be big. They actually like a hide that they can feel all sides of it when they are inside it. They could be fancy rock type or could be a cereal box. I have hides made my exo-terra they sell large medium sized ones for like 10 bux. The water dish could be a doggy bowl or one of the rock kind. I use a round dog dish it cost like 3 bux.

Go to www.sterilite.com or you can go to Wal-mart and they have hundreds of these containers to choose from. You need a sterilite container that will safely house your snake and not give them the opprotunity to escape even though they clip down i still put something heavy on top. Those underbed storage boxes are great but they dont offer much height and most are around 6" tall. A ball python will get around 4' at the most a 36" long tub is plenty. For every foot in length the snake has you will need 1 square foot of floor space. The model number i chose is Sterilite number 1865 its great and has the exact same footprint as a 20 gallon long.
