    wet paper towel substrate/breeding/ovy question
Hii guys! Some of you may remember that I had picked up a few snakes recently, two large females of which had been breeding. When I picked them up, one of the girls was glowing, and now for the last two days she has been soaking in her water like crazy. No sign of mites or anything... I'm hoping this is a good sign for the possibility of an ovy...??? Anyway, I'm trying to leave her alone as much as humanly possible since she's in a totally new environment and I don't want to stress her out. But she's displaced a good majority of her water and drenched all of her paper towels. Her tub is so steamy with condensation all over the inside - that's how wet it is. My question is, should I replace her paper towels (they are only wet, not dirty) or leave her be? I'm only worried about her getting scale rot, and want to do what's best for her.

    thanks in advance!!

I would replace the towels and just keep a smaller amount of water in the bowl. I have girls that do this and I try not to let their tubs stay soaked for more than a day or so. A quick swap won't disturb her all that much - you don't even have to remove her from the bowl, just pick the whole thing up with her in it!

She is so big that only the front quarter of her fits in the bowl! :O lol

Do I need to get her a bigger bowl?

Haha, not necessarily, but it sounds like she would use it if you gave it to her. :)

OKay! lol She is pretty big... I'll have to see if I can even find a bowl that large. What do you guys use for your big girls? She is a little over 3000g in a 41q rack

    I use this: http://www.petmountain.com/product/d...ding-dish.html

The medium size, which is also available at Walmart.

Thank you! :) She already has the large size in there (just measured) I'm not sure if the jumbo size would even be big enough! Going to post a pic in just a min.....
