What is the best way to thaw a frozen mouse/rat? I did the ziploc bag in warm water last week, but the mouse still got wet (Sophie ate it anyway as I dried it the best I could).....

Different subject, is it normal for a BP's tongue (well, the tip of the tongue) to be tinged black?

That's why I switched to freezer bags for thawing, because the thin ones always seemed to leak. It doesn't work out to any more expense, though, because I'll rinse and reuse them a few times. Since switching I've only had one problem with getting wet, and I suspect that had more to do with the 11-year-old setting it up.

As far as the tongue, I don't know that I've ever noticed one with a different-colored tip but if it seems to be the same consistency and flexibility as normal, I'd expect that's just a normal color variation. Or maybe it's part Chow. ;)
