Fresh veggies? No thanks I'll take crunchy dried ones.
Well I found out something new about my beardie today, just adding on to the already crazy personality he has. Ever since I've had him I've put fresh veggies out about every other day. Turnip greens, mustard greens, squash, and sweet potato are his favorite daily foods. Well I've never really watched him eat his veggies, usually just put them there and carry on with my day. Well the past couple of days I've noticed he hasn't eaten any fresh veggies, but when a day or so goes by and the veggies are semi-dried up and somewhat crunchy, he DESTROYS them. hahah Maybe it's his favorite winter time snack, who knows. But hey what can ya do.

My beardie does the same thing he despises the fresh veggies and prefers semi-crunchy veggies.

He also loves his crunchy/juicy roaches also, you can hear them pop juices when he bites on them. Maybe there's a pattern to his madness.

That is funny, but at least yours eats veggies, my girl is so picky I swear she will turn up her nose and walk away from her veggies, but comes running if she she's crickets, superworms etc. I've even fed he a live pinkie rat, she ate it up.

K just starting to look at beardies so have a question about food. Do you just add like a salad of veggies everyother day let him have that as a constant source an then feed insects once a day too? I'm wondering cuz if I start a roach colony I wanna find something that will like to eat the extras cuz there will be plenty.

Fresh veggies every other day, and I offer roaches daily, but he doesn't eat them daily cause he just came out of his semi-brumation mode. But his appetite is picking back up.
I breed a roach colony myself, WAYYY better than crickets in every single aspect lol

We feed our baby beardie crickets/roaches twice a day with fresh veggies in his tank all the time. Carlson, I'd suggest starting your colony early if you don't wanna have to buy a bunch of extra babies. Also, we got our colony from WestCoastRoaches.

I gotta buddy with a good colony he said hell give me some starters when I get my t. Problem is one t isn't enough to justify a colony and petco sells crickets for a lot an no roaches so I wanted to have a small colony lol I know easier said than done so that's why I'm thinking adding something that eats them daily once it becomes a big colony. I hope that didn't come across as rambling
