    New Zoo-Med Tank Mod(pic heavy)
I wanted to do a lucylid mod on my 20 gal long Zoo Med Terrarium. I was able to do it a lot simpler than other mods posted since I already had the sliding mesh lid. After carefully removing the mesh it was simply a matter of cutting the right size of plexiglass, drilling ventilation holes, and adhering it to the back of the lid. Now I don't have to worry about burning out heat bulbs, misting as often, and it looks super cool. I included a halogen strip light on top to keep up ambient air temps during the day and for good visibility. I used aquarium background to black out the back and sides. So far I've got 92 degree hot side, 78 degree cool, about 80 degree ambient temp, and a perfect 60% humidity. I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out. Now I've got to work on making some new hides. Or just ordering some from reptile basics. In one more week my quarantine period will be over and my spider ball will inhabit the side opposite the spider mojave.

Original terrarium - Not mine, just a pic I found for example

Inside top of lid - Wedged the plexi under that lip to hold nice and firm

Inside bottom of lid - I used clear 100% aquarium safe silicone

Finished door in place - drilled 20 holes for ventilation

Installed UTH with probe - Bubble wrap insulation below it to deflect heat up and not effect my dresser. Still has good ventilation below though

Added a strip of plexi inside to keep substrate from falling out

Finished product - With blacked out sides and back

I hope you sanded down the edges of those ceramic planters? a few of them look sharp but maybe just the camera angle?

They're softened up. All it takes is 5 minutes with the little file that comes with nail clippers to rub the edges off.
