AP econo rack with 1753 tubs + 12 gram corns =
No good! lol I just moved my hatchling corns from the hatchling 6qt tubs to my AP econo rack with 1753 setrilite 15qt tubs. the smallest of which is 12 grams. well he discovered that the gap is bigger than he is. lol I found him after only 20 minutes of searching. I love my AP rack so please dont think i'm knocking them. if you are using them make sure that the babies are big enough not to get out.

Could you post some pics? I was thinking about buying one of them, and I might do a colubrid or two, so this makes me a little wary. Thanks,

    the gap

not all the tubs have that large of a gap but of course just my luck I randomly put the smallest corn in the slot with the biggest gap. That particular shelf has about a 1/4" gap where as the majority of them have an 1/8" gap. I dont have any issues with the rack its self. i've had it for a few years but i've always used it for baby balls and boas. so theres never been an escape before. I did keep the corns in 6qt with lids until I thought they'd be okay in the 15qt. I was wrong for this little one. lol.

can you still use a top on the tubs? I had the same problem on a rack i built and the tubs just fit in with a top on them im sure you have tried this though lol

lol no I hadnt. brb i'll go see......k back. only that one shelf will fit with the lid. all the others wont fit. So that little sunglow and a 14 gram snow are on that shelf with lids on. glad to get them out of the 6qt tubs. I need them for the geckos that are gonna be hatching.

I plan on breeding one or two of my corns next spring and I've already been thinking about a rack for them. Is there a rack that has a small enough gap that they can't get out of?

I doubt it. You can put some cardboard down to make the gap smaller. If I were you I'd build your own rack. I built a 12-quart rack and made it so the lids will fit on. On a lot of sterilite tubs there are little lips that create a small gap that I don't trust at all.

x2 on this. My corns are all in locking tubs. They are the best escape artists in the snake world though I've known breeders who use the cardboard trick. Ideally, you want a tight fit for them instead of any gap at all.
