    phantom?
Seller says phantom only had one pic I get more later today. Does this pic rule out phantom or Mojave or are more needed

If it was me and the person selling it was not a reputable breeder no matter how good the price is I would pass.

hard to tell. thats a bit of a problem with that gene complex, the normal forms look so normal, while the combinations and super-forms are stunning and awesome.

i would say the sure way to tell it would be to breed to a mojave or super mojave BEL (or any other BEL). By the way, today in another thread a discussion is leaning towards the conclusion that phantom and mystic are two different names for the same gene.

from only the picture, i think its likely there is something like phantom or mystic going on in that snake, but i dont think its mojave. im not sure, but i lean towards the hypothesis that you got what you wanted, and that your snake will do something nice in the blue eye leucystic gene complex.

Looks exactly like my mojo girl, particularly when she was a little younger and darker. (my pictures are crappy, sorry, but you get the idea)

This snake is most definitely in the BEL complex. Unfortunately, in this case, the OP can't ask to breed the animal to prove it out, before he decides whether he's going to buy it or not. This is why, unless you're particularly fantastic at telling morphs apart from others, it's best to buy an animal from a reputable breeder. The price difference between mojo and phantom is quite extreme.. nobody wants to buy one, or be misled in their purchase, only to be burned. If this animal were being sold as a mojo, nobody would second guess it.. it looks like a mojo. But because it's being sold as a phantom, and the fact that it doesn't look like a phantom with the photo provided, is what makes people suspicious, or doubtful.

I've had clutches that came from a phantom x mojave. produced 3 purple passions which proved my breeding male phantom out. I had both mojaves and phantoms in the clutch also. I can tell them apart in person, but wouldn't want to try from a pic. I just hatched a clutch from my male phantom x normal female. since a mojave wasn't involved in this breeding it's very simple to tell. been told that many mojaves been sold as phantoms / mystics, not on purpose but by mistakes being made. so be careful who you're buying from and ask what the breeding was. good luck don
