First time shipping heat pack or no?
I'm shipping overnight shipping a ball python on Monday and was wondering if i should use a 40 hour uniheat pack or not. Its not shipping very far, only from Arlington, TX to College Station, TX. On Monday at my end the high/low temps are 62 and 45 degrees fahrenheit. At the other end on Monday the temps will be 67/53 and Tuesday will be 65/41. The package should be delivered around 12:00 pm on Tuesday so it won't see the 40 degree weather.

I'm shipping in a box labeled perishable with 3/4 insulation. I was going to poke a hole on each side and crumble up some newspaper to fill the extra space inside. Anything else I should know or change before shipping?
Regarding this, you might want to read over this section of the Ship Your Reptiles web-site, even if you're not using them to ship your animal (http://www.shipyourreptiles.com/en/get_help). There are various Federal laws and regulations you need to make sure you're in compliance with before you ship your animal. Not trying to talk down to you or sound like your parent but your actions can effect everyone in this hobby/industry so please make sure you're in compliance with the law while you're shipping. Ignorance of the law isn't a defensible explanation if you're charged and/or fined for improper shipping of an animal; not saying that from me personally, just stating what would be relayed to you if it arises to the level of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service becoming involved. The "Shipping Standards" section can also answer some of your questions regarding how to pack your snake for a safe arrival. Take care and hope that helps!
