50 gram rat weaner to big....?

hello everyone pretty much as it says above my 4 month old royal recently was moved onto small weaner rats by the advice of people on here and my local reptile shop so any way he's eaten 2 weaner rat's but he's mist 2 as well is he ready for a weaner and by the way his weight ranges between 201-209 grams for some reason it went up when he didn't eat anything :confusd: so then any help will be appreciated this is my first royal and i just ent to sure about the weaners.

Yes if he's only 200 grams its to big. 30 grams would be 15%.

50 grams is right on the cusp of being classified as a "small" rat, which is up a size from weanlings. An occasional 50g rat isn't going to hurt him, but the oversized meals would definitely explain him skipping some meals and he will most likely poop out many more nutrients than from a smaller meal (aka wasting your money).

50 grams is too big for a 200 gram snake.
I feed 50 to 80 gram rats to most of my 1000+ gram snakes twice a week, but that's too big imo for a 200 gram snake.
Most of our snakes that size eat 3 week old 25-30 gram rats.
The key is to feed them meals that they don't have to take a week + to digest because then they may not want their next meal, or two, or three ...

Im new too keeping ball pythons, hes 12 months old as ive just learnt the person who sold me him told me he was 5 months old ha anyway, I was wondering if a large weaner rat would be to big for him as hes eating a small weaner rat and a large mouse thanks guys :) .
