Ball python general help!

Hi guys,

I kept boas for quite a few years a while ago, my boyfriend and I have just got our first ball python. He's a beautiful little spider, and so far doing pretty well!!

we got him 2 weeks ago on Sunday just gone, the Wednesday right after he ate. He didn't eat last week (since been told they usually eat every 2 weeks or so?). I had him out on Sunday and thought his eyes looked glazed so figured he was coming into shed. Got him out this evening and noticed his tail had shed, so checked his tub and the rest was there!

Just a bit worried as he didn't really show any signs apart from slight eye glaze less that 24 hours before, does anyone have any tips??
With boas, they go really milky, and eyes totally glaze over. I'm more than likely worrying about nothing, but wondered if anyone could point me in the right direction?

Also, I'm assuming feeding could commence Wednesday?

I feed my little baby every 5 days. You're fine feeding him as soon as he sheds. Some people even offer food when they're in shed, if they'll take it.

BP's can be tricky eaters, but they should eat every week.

Every BP shows different/different degrees of signs before a shed. I have one that I can tell is going to shed more than a week in advance, but another that I honestly can't tell until I find a shed in his cage. I just keep the humidity on the higher side in his cage so he can shed if I notice or not. As long as the sheds are coming off in a single piece you have nothing to worry about.

I agree they should be fed weekly, not every 2 weeks. As far as the shed, as long as it cones off in one piece you're good. I usually just check for the eye caps to make sure they both came off and the tail tip.
