Help with hole in lid! Problem?

I have a 20g Long Zoomed tank, the one with the sliding on/off lid. Today, when I took my BP out to hold her for a bit, the lid slipped out of my hand and bumped the corner of the tank. It put a small hole in it (less then the size of a dime). I was able to push the broken part of the screen back in place, but if you press it, it gives way slightly. Should I be worried that my BP will take advantage of this hole and escape? She is aprox 900grams, so MUCH fatter then the hole.

Also, do you know if Zoomed sells the slide on lids seperate from the tank? I can't seem to find any place that sells them alone.

Could you weave it back together using the copper core from any old cable you have laying around?

I would be more worried about making sure there were no sharp or rough edges the snack could get cut on.

I rubbed my fingers on the hole from the inside of the cage, it doesn't feel like there will be a problem with her getting hurt or cutting herself. Also, there really isn't enough damage to need copper wire for either. She rubs her face hard agaisnt stuff in the cage all the time, and is always looking at the top screen. I'm just worried that she'll find the indention in the screen and try to push her way through it.

You could try and sew it back together with some fishing line. or just take the screen out of the frame and replace the whole thing.

If she finds a hole that she can just slightly get her nose through she will rub on it and hurt herself that way. I have one tub in my rack that has a slightly bigger gap up top, about half the thickness of a pencil, but my sub adult female still managed to rub her nose raw on it. I would be worried that with enough rubbing/pushing she could make the hole large enough to fit through. What about getting a new screen and hot gluing it over the hole?

Or covering it with some aluminum tape?

It could be worth calling zoomed, they might not have it listed anywhere online, but they could get you a new lid. But you definitely don't want her sticking her face in the hole and then scratching herself up when she reverses back out, it's worth trying to suture the hole shut even if she can't fit through it to escape. Good dental floss is cheap, yet surprisingly rugged for a quick fix as well as easy to thread.

Had the same thing happen to me a while back I took the lid to my local Ace Hardware and the replaced the whole screen for $12 or so. You could give that a try :D

I emailed ZooMed and they said they will send me a new lid if I send them a pic of the hole with my name and address. Not a bad deal at all! Except I have no way to take pics of it...haha. I have a friend coming over on Wednesday, I'll just get him to take the pic with his fancy phone.

Does anyone know if you can pop apart one of those sliding screen tops AND put it back together? I have the same 20 gal long. I'd like to use one as my lucylid by removing the wire mesh and replacing it with 1/8" plexiglass, but I'm afraid if I take it apart I'll destroy it.
