wow.. i know i'm somewhat new to the hobby. more so new to paying attention to forums and what goes on in other states and their legislature.. but is it just me, or are the exotic pet bans becoming more widespread very quickly? aside from the burmese, anaconda, and african rock python getting added to the lacey act, i feel like every week i'm hearing of a new state or county banning smaller and smaller snakes. i can kind of understand being required to have a permit to own burmese or other giants (not just any body should be allowed to own an elephant), but completely banning them? i don't think any novice should be able to buy a snake that requires at least two people to handle, but boa constrictors..? really? and there was just some county in texas that completely banned ball pythons. i know if they instantly had a nationwide ban on ball pythons people would stand up and do something about it, but it seems to me like they're going to slowly take them away county by county, and it looks like they could succeed if something doesn't change.
